--smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 625\/469;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The trail is mostly tree covered and flat. \u00a0The route I took was a southern loop that ended up to be seldom used and I had to do a lot of bush whacking. \u00a0It was hunting season so it required that I camp in designated camping locations. \u00a0The camping spot\u00a0I wanted was 18 miles away at the junction of the southern loop and main trail. \u00a0I had gotten to the trailhead around 10:30am, and this time of year it gets dark around 5:30pm so I needed to move quickly to reach the campsite.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/skelmo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_2175.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-862 lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/skelmo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_2175-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_2175\" width=\"625\" height=\"469\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/skelmo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_2175-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/skelmo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_2175-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/skelmo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_2175-624x468.jpg 624w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 625px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 625\/469;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My hike was only 9 miles that day. \u00a0I followed the shoreline of a large lake to a state park campground. \u00a0The campground was packed with car-campers so I walked an additional mile to the overflow field. \u00a0It was mostly open, but there were a few &#8220;mega camps&#8221;
